It’s almost Christmas!! That’s why we need this advance travel gift for ourselves. Since malapit naman ang 13th month pay and bonus, why not waste it in a meaningful and unforgettable way? Instead of wasting it for material things, I’m investing it for my travels... a memorable travel indeed. But unfortunately Dyna is not my companion for this amazing travel. Busy pa ang auditor nyo, so si general accountant danay matravel for now.
Actually this travel would not be possible without the dabarkads of my friend (Just a friend). So in short saling pusa lang ako dito, they are the ones that make this travel more efficient and stress free for all of us. And since Dyna is not my companion for this travel, this travel blog would be kinda different to my previous travel since this time I will tell story of kilig, dream come true experience and lastly, the story of epic skinny dipping under the moon. So please if you’re reading this, please bare with me. Cause for this blog, I will be unleashing my OA and Landi mode. (Pagbigyan! Christmas Gift nyo na to sakin)
Before I start my story, let’s give my friend a name para di ako mabudlayan magkwento. Okay, let’s name him “Paul” (Kunware not his real name). Paul invited me to join to their escapade in guimaras with his friends, And who am I to decline his offer dba? I never been in Nueva Valencia before, so it’s a perfect opportunity for me to experience this kind of travel. So beforehand, I do some research about Guisi, Guimaras with my friend Google and i never thought that this place is soooo beautiful and from that very moment I knew that this experience would be my best travel for this year!
How to get to Guisi Beach, Guimaras
Guisi Beach is one hour and 30 minutes away from Iloilo City. The first leg of the journey is the 15-minute ferry ride from Ortiz Port in Iloilo City Proper to Jordan Wharf in Guimaras. Look for the Guimaras Tourism Office located at the waiting shed outside the arrival area of the Jordan Wharf. The tourism officer can arrange your transportation to Guisi Beach or any destination in Guimaras. There’s a set rate for vehicle rentals regulated by the Guimaras Provincial Government. No need to worry about over-priced rates. Guisi Beach is 45 minutes to 1 hour away from Jordan Wharf. Rates for multicabs (8 to 10 people) and shuttle L300 vans (10 to 14 people) start from P500 per vehicle.
The very first time you will enter at Clearwater Guisi Beach Resort, a fury white dog will welcome and catch your attention. As you can see from above, this dog is so charming. Actually, he’s so photogenic that makes him almost look alike of Jon Snow’s Dog. (Avid Fan of Game of Thrones here!) But before I took photos of him, of course I gave him something to eat, kumbaga parang bayad sa pag model nya sa portfolio ko. Haha.
By the way, if you’re one of those brave independent travelers, you can take passenger jeepney instead of renting one. Actually it’s one of the cheapest option for transportation. The jeepney loading/unloading station is located near the exit of Jordan Wharf (past the waiting shed). Just ignore the crowd of touts and tell them that you’re planning on commuting to Guisi.
Ride a “Nueva Valencia” jeepney (30 to 45 minutes) – P40 per passenger
Tell the driver to drop you off at the intersection going to Guisi Beach. Since Brgy. Dolores is already the end of the jeepney route, the driver may negotiate to take you to Guisi for an additional P10 per passenger.
Ride a single motorcycle to Guisi (10 minutes)
Hike downhill to the beach (less than 5 minutes)
Guisi Beach is far more beautiful to look in naked eye rather than just looking it in the pictures online. The sight of the awe-inspiring coastline of Guisi beach in Guimaras was a wonderful reward for all of us who were so stressed in our own careers, studies & etc. After a busy schedules, long stressful weeks and cramming over deadlines, this gives us the opportunity to chillax and just chill under the sun or moon or whatever it is. Guisi definitely gives us the serenity and calmness that we need to separate us for a while in our respective busy worlds.
While on the way to the entrance of Guisi Clearwater Beach Resort, I was already seeing a scenic sunset view of white strip of sand and crystal clear, emerald green water below the hill. It's like there was an enchanting voice seducing me to come down and take a closer look at the beach. I thought I would only be watching it from afar since ayoko umitim na naman but nope... This time after just eating sandwich, I already changed for my swimsuit and voila. Jump in the water like a child thirst to swim.
We all knew that sunset is one of the best time to take cinematic photographs due to the reflection of Yellow and orangy colors in the sea, right? This scene gives us dramatic and romantic aura while were enjoying floating in the vast sea under the sunset. So this beautiful seascapes call for a prenuptial photos indeed! And Since one of our friends are getting married on February next year. Why not take photos of them? We can call it “pre- prenuptial”? Hahaha. Never mind the right side cause that’s me and Paul. Hashtag Silhouette.
As the Quotes says “The darkest nights produce the brightest stars”. I really do believe it, since for me everything is so meaningful at night. As if everything under the moon is special to me. It’s a dream come true experience for me - to float and swim in a beautiful beach under the moon and the stars, away from the crowd, away from all stressors, away from the city. As if I really need this. As if I’m destined to go here. How alluring it is that the water is still crystal clear at night? I just keep swimming as if I’m dancing with the waves, as if everything is just perfect. I knew that it’s been a long time since I’ve experience this kind of happiness. Thanks to Paul, cause without him I may not be able to experience this.
It’s very refreshing to wake up in the sound of the waves. Unfortunately, hindi ko naabutan ang sunrise but still everything is so nice. Pagkagising na pagkagising ko pa lang dretso agad sa may rock formation at the both sides of the Guisi beach. They are interesting rock formations which can be easily reached easily during low tide. Beach bums can relax at the hidden beach pockets or get a dose of adrenalin by jumping from one of the low cliffs. Island hopping tours are also available from the locals of Guisi. It’s an excellent way to explore even more stunning rock formations and beach coves near Guisi.
After we ate breakfast, we headed immediately to other beach coves near guisi. Since ari naman na kami, why not discover some places na lapit man lang. Our next destination is not that far on ClearWater Beach Resort, but syempre it’s exhausting to walk under the heat of the sun with no cap or sunglasses man lang. Eh kasi naman sa sobrang excited ayun nakalimutan ko na lahat ng travel necessities ko. But good thing Paul have tshirt na hiniram ko kay mainit gd ya cause I’m just wearing one piece swimsuit and highwaist short. Directly ang init sa lawas.
Next stop is another Beach Cove, I don’t know what to call it. But this second place we visit is more isolated than the previous one. No houses or anything near to it. But the best thing here is that the shore have so many slippers, shoes, sandals & etc. “Ginapanawagan ko ang mga illonggo kg illongga nga nadulaan sang tsinelas samtang gapaligo sa Guisi, Naway Lumapit sa BeachCove nga ini. Kay dako gid ang chansa na makita nyo gd dire ang gnapalangga nyo nga tsinelas. Hahaha. But other than that this place is so damn nice. Water is cold and so crystal clear that gives everyone the ability to see the coral reefs under. Say hi to nemo!
The sand in Guisi might not be perfectly white or fine but its alluring waters and rugged coastline more than make up for it. An overview photo of Guisi Beach above gives you the idea how beautiful this place is. This place is not that commercialize so you can enjoy the freedom, silence and serenity with the nature. I really do recommend this place for Family Outings, Barkada Getaways, Couple’s Honeymoon or Even for a solo travel. The place is safe. Good guismarasnon everywhere. Delicious and affordable food. Accommodating and Price-wise rooms. Our stay is so good to be true.
